Pet Consult
In a pet consult I spend time talking to you and your pet. I come to your home, the place where your pet is most at ease. With loving touch, I will check your pet's body for lumps and bumps, cuts or sores, and areas of heat or cold (They usually love this). Through silent dialogue your pet will provide me with information about his or her body. You will provide me with information from your observations of any conditions or symptoms that your pet has been exhibiting. From all of this information we will determine the best way to proceed with your pet.
The average consult is usually one hour at a rate of $70.00 plus the cost of any suggested remedies. Re-visits are $60.00 for one hour, $40.00 for one half hour. To arrange a consult for your pet, you may contact me either by phone or email.
Reiki
Reiki -- What is it? How does it work?
The term "Reiki" is usually translated as " Universal Life Energy". It is a holistic healing system, meaning that it treats the whole being. Reiki is part of the emerging field of energetic healing, rediscoverd from the wisdom and knowledge of the ancient cultures.
How Reiki can help Animals:
First and foremost it is gentle, painless, non-invasive and stress free for animals. Reiki heals on all levels of an animal's being. For high strung or nervous animals, Reiki induces deep relaxation and stress-reduction and, over time, can reduce the tendency toward nervousness. Reiki can accelarate healing after surgery or illness. It complements both conventional and alternative therapies and can enhance their actions and lessen their side effects. Reiki can help maintain health on all levels, is a powerful tool for emotional healing following trauma, abuse, neglect, fear and trust issues, reaching deeply into even the most damaged spirits.
Reiki is always safe and comfortable for both the animal and healer. Finally, for a dying animal and his people, Reiki provides compassionate support that can make the transition more peaceful for all concerned.

Flower Essences
What are Flower Essences?
Flower remedies are made from the flowers of different plants. They are not extracts but the essence of the flowers, that is, the vibational pattern of the flower. Flower remedies are wonderful - not only can their effectiveness amaze you but they are completely safe without side effects and will not interact with any medications.
The subtle vibration of flower essences can effect a profound change on your pet's behavior. Why Use Flower Remedies?
Flower remedies are the most natural way to assist our pets to release patterns and behaviors that are not healthy for them.
Animals love to be outside rolling in the grass and plants, smelling, licking, and even eating them. There is a reason for that.
Animals instinctively know what they need to bring back balance and harmony to their bodies. Because our pets are not out on their own to seek out their own remedies, flower essences become our best solution to help them. How do Flower Essences Work?
Flower essences are vibrational. What that means is that they re-balance the vibration within your pet that is creating the behavior or condition.
Flower essences address emotional conditions, while some seem to also address the physical. It is really about re-balancing the emotions to help correct behavior or learned patterns, this sometime does result in changes in physical conditions. How do I Use Flower Essences?
Flower essences are extremely easy to use and do not interfere whatsoever with any medication that your pet may be taking. You can administer them in a variety of ways. First, you can give them by drops in the mouth (although this can be tricky) or in the water bowl. Second, you can use it in the form of a spray. The spray will change the vibration not only in your pet but in the environment they live in. Third, you can massage the drops on the underside of your pet's ear, on the brow, tip of nose, or almost anywhere on their body.
At Green Gems Herbals I have created a group of flower essence blends to cover most of the common ailments such as: abandonment/abuse, accidents, aggressive behavior, animal emergency care, changes, chronic illness, destructive behavior, digest-ease, dominant behavior, environmental sensitivity, excessive barking, fear, grief and loss, healthy coat, allergic skin, kenneling, motion sickness, parasitic protection, senior citizen, spaying, tone and detox, transition, and training.
To have a blend created for your pet's special issues, a consult is necessary.
